Shake Shack Opens 3rd DC Location With Spirited Smorgasboard

A grand success for Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign became a grand chance for DC socials not to go hungry either!

Shake Shack celebrated the opening of its third DC location (now open next to the Spy Museum) with a feast of complimentary burgers, beer, wine, milkshakes and signature desserts.  But no one in attendance had to pay their check.  Instead, it was Shake Shack presenting a check —  from funds raised during the recent month-long Great American ShakeSale.

While patrons enjoyed their SmokeShacks, Dogmeisters and Frozen Custards, Shake Shack CEO Randy Garutti and Thomas C. Nelson, Ph. D., President of Share Our Strength, attended to an oversized donation.

From a ShakeSale goal of $150,000, the fundraiser netted over $285,000!
