Amongst the recipes in the ballroom at the West End Ritz Tuesday night was a recipe for healthy babies as the March of Dimes of Maryland and the National Capital Area held its Signature Chefs Gala and a continuing 75th anniversary celebration.
Guests enjoyed enticing creations from some 25 of Washington’s top chefs, wine and specialty cocktail tastings from dozens of vintners and local mixologists, distinctive auction packages, and many opportunities to fund the mission of the maternal health organization.
Jamie Leeds of Hank’s Oyster Bar served as Honorary Chef Chair, accompanied by Jo-Jo Valenzuela from Iron Gate leading the Cocktail coalition, as attendees tasted favorites like DC Coast’s crab salad, Taberna del Alabardero’s squid in black ink and Chef Geoff’s bacon wrapped dates.
Those who donated to opt in to the unlimited champagne bar were entered into a drawing for a one of a kind piece from jeweler Alberto Parada, on hand at the event. Other auction items won included trips to Vegas, New York, and a coveted group stay at the Greenbrier Hotel.
