Mac (her real name is Catherine, but don’t tell her I told you!) picked out the perfect pint for me in two tries — and only because on the first try I asked to sample her own favorite. Then she (at least pretended to) listen to me while I told her about my day. Signs of a great bartender? Yes! You can find her at Dupont’s new Sauf Haus.
Sauf Haus Bier Hall — find it above the Shake Shack at the corner of Jefferson and Connecticut Avenues in Dupont — officially opened earlier this month, unleashing two floors of German pils, weizens, helles and dunkeles just in time for your very own summertime Oktoberfest.
We recommend you post up on the large outdoor patio while the weather stays mild to indulge in any of 16 German beers on tap and a variety of seasonal, local craft, and European beers in cans and bottles; and feast on Bavarian-style pretzels, brats, franks, and oysters. Lederhosen optional (and totally KSM encouraged).
Prost! (And tell Mac we sent ya!)
