Go Mamma!: Danica Patrick at the Press Club

“I enjoy being a girl,” said model, spokesperson and auto racing driver Danica Patrick at the National Press Club Tuesday afternoon.  “That’s probably something most people don’t know about me.”

A NASCAR driver — as well as the only woman to win in the Indy car series— Patrick spoke at the Club’s Speakers’ Series regarding her career and related controversies concerning her gender. “If something is different and unique, it’s a story,” she insisted.  “Just ask Jeremy Lin!”

“I love being unique and I love being different.  Don’t hate that.  Use it and take advantage of it.”

So does the brunette bombshell worry about being taken seriously in a male dominated industry while using her sex appeal for national ad campaigns, including those famous Go Daddy commercials?

“This day in age, it’s about the package.  Can you drive?  Can you speak?  Can you talk to the media, meet sponsors, and can you be featured in ad campaigns? I’m going to use the package, but the things that I do are never outside of my comfort zone.”
