Martyn Lawrence-Bullard: Million Dollar Decorator

Million Dollar Decorators” star Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, an exceptionally well-travelled/efficiently-scheduled, yet remarkably still sociable and sincere Interior-Designer-to-the-stars (Elton John, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Kid Rock, Cher…) made his first ever stop in DC Tuesday to join a panel at the Washington Design Center‘s Capital Design Lecture and sign copies of his latest book, “Live, Love and Decorate.”

The 44 year old London native, recently named one of the top 25 designers in the country by Elle Decor, delighted local designers and writers at an intimate breakfast at the Mandarin Oriental preceding his Design Center appearance, regaling with stories of his most horrendous — and declined — commissions (can you say gold leaf garage??), how he gravitated to center stage even before his designs put him in the spotlight (he and his buds formed an early eccentric performance group), and what’s next in the Martyn Lawrence-Bullard empire (coming up: men’s jewelry for women!!).
