A record number of caterpillers came out to be morphed into butterflies — aka mere supporters morphed into accolytes — Friday night as Fair Chance‘s annual Butterfly Bash broke new records in attendance and fundraising at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium.

Butterfly Bash Co-Chairs Eleanor Maguire of McLaughlin Ryder Investments, Inc. and Dr. Ida Bergstrom of Farragut Medical and Travel Care led the charge to raise some $350,000 (more than $50,000 of which was raised in a ten-minute “flash cash” appeal).  The monies are used to help ten DC child-focused nonprofits expand to do what they do better, and serve more children in need. These promising youth-serving nonprofits, selected by Fair Chance annually, will receive Guests adorned themselves in these butterflies in support of Fair Chance - Photography by Susannah McPhelim350 hours of free coaching and consulting on such things as financial management, measuring results, board development and their own fundraising.
