Contest Winner Eats 15 Z-Burgers, Wins 4th Consecutive Year

With the 2009, 2010 and 2011 titles under his belt, “Furious Pete” Czerwinski returned to DC Tuesday to defend his title and try for a fourth consecutive win at Z-Burger at Tenleytown’s annual Independence Day Burger eating contest.

The insatiable Ontarian, who downed 15 burgers in under 10 minutes, took home a $1000 cash prize as well as $1000 in Z-Burger food tokens, beating out 12 other contestants, including a single female, a vegetarian, and three-time-runner-up Dale “Mouth of the South” Boone.

Czerwinksi, who has won nearly 50 professional eating competitions, now heads to New York for a hot dog contest on July 4th.

*Contestants will have the option and be encouraged to donate food prizes to local charities of their choice.
