In honor of Samuel Adams‘ birthday — and because it just happened to be DC Beer Week — Washington City Paper invited DCers to participate in a perfect pairing, tasting 30 of Sam Adams’ best beers with amazing food from some of the region’s top restos Tuesday night at Longview Gallery. #30Beers30Years
If you didn’t realize that Sam Adams even has 30 types of beer, you’re not alone! So this ticket to bottomless tastings of Maple Pecan Porter, Word to the Weisse Berlinerweisse, Porch Rocker Radler, plus, plus, plus — including many beers not even currently available in the DC region, like Honey Queen Braggot!! — was a rare and educational tasty treat.
Restaurants like Roofers Union, City Tap House DC, Jack Rose Dining Saloon, Härth, J.Paul’s Georgetown, The Hamilton, Hank’s Oyster Bar, and so many more created plates specific to their paired beer, showing attendees how the brews accented their bites. Biggest pint props of the night go to Bar Pilar, Blue 44 and Art & Soul for their award winning pairings.
Now, there’s more DC Beer Week… so bring on more brew!
