“This show has spawned many knock-offs all over the country – but if the truth be known – we started here at the Timonium Fairgrounds ten years ago in one of the smaller buildings.  To see where we’ve grown and to share it with all the fans is quite an honor,” explains the festival founder, Greg Nivens, a Baltimore resident. Guests can expect some fun and exciting features this year:

  • The Shrine of Swine is back – but the whole hogs are always intriguing and new.  Each hog is totally different and even tastes different.
  • New Gaming Area – this includes Air Hockey Table Games, Foose Ball, Pinball Machines and Skeet Ball
  • Great Live Music is back with some new faces.
  • Fun crowd competitions will be featured on the Main Stage including the Stein Holding Competition, The Drink like a Lady Contest, Baltimore’s Best Beer Belly, and Two Rounds of Bacon Eating.

Chance for Life 2017 @ MGM National Harbor
Apr 1 @ 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Chance for Life is Washington area’s premiere Poker Tournament, Wine & Chef’s Tasting, and After Party. It is a raucous, dynamic experience that is unlike any other in the Washington area. Withe the mission to fight against pediatric cancer so that no children or family will ever have to experience having a child affected by cancer, 100% of all proceeds raised through Chance for Life are donated to directly fund cancer research through Children’s National Hospital Center and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Kennedy Snyder, 16, was diagnosed with an aggressive spinal cord tumor at two years old. After a successful fight to eradicate the tumor, it returned almost to its original size in less than three months. Kennedy’s indomitable spirit – bravery, exuberance, and persistence – is the inspiration that created Chance for Life.

Chance for Life, taking place on April 1, is going to be the FIRST charity event held at MGM National Harbor. MGM approached CFL after attending as a sponsor last year and it was selected as the logical venue to allow CFL To grow to a $1M+ night event.

100% of all proceeds raised through CFL are donated to directly fund cancer research through Children’s National Hospital Center and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Since being founded 12 years ago, Chance for Life has raised over two million dollars for pediatric cancer research (they grossed $410,000 in 2016 alone)!
