Tien Leaving Himitsu, Opening Emilie’s on CapHill Next Month

Himitsu chef Kevin Tien announced his departure today from his Petworth restaurant to focus on the opening of new restaurant, Emilie’s, in the heart of Capitol Hill. The new 5,175-square-foot restaurant is “centered on cart-style service” and scheduled to open in September 2019.

“I’m looking forward to writing the next chapter and sharing my passion with the community on a larger scale and a different service style,” said Tien in a release.

Himitsu will continue to operate under current co-owner Carlie Steiner with Chef Amanda Moll (former executive sous chef of Doi Moi) taking over as Himitsu’s new executive chef after Tien leaves on September 15th.
