Is he Florida’s own Ansel Adams? Florida House says YES and invites you to see for yourself… maybe with a glass of Florida orange juice in hand.

To celebrate 50 years of Florida House on Capitol Hill, ten of Clyde Butcher‘s beloved images of Florida will be on view in the House’s upstairs gallery through the end of the year. Guests can explore not only Clyde’s work, but the story behind each individual piece.

The exhibit “Clyde Butcher: A Florida Icon” is a black-and-white nature series, that “helps you understand that everything in the environment is important – not one thing more important than another,” Butcher told K Street Magazine.

“The essence of my Florida photographs goes beyond the images themselves. It’s a tribute to the intertwining of passion and service. By pursuing my love for photography, I’ve discovered avenues to contribute to causes larger than myself—be it environmental advocacy or simply sharing the beauty of nature with fellow citizens,” Butcher said.

Just a block from the U.S. Capitol, Florida House is the state’s unofficial Embassy, offering a commanding view of the Capitol Dome and treasures from across the state.
