Rare Cabernets Poured By the Glass at a DC Dining Favorite

One DC dining favorite is pouring rare magnum cabernet wines — by the glass — for the month of August. Get on it.

Every Tuesday evening during this last month of summer, Blue Duck Tavern will provide a taste that’s usually unavailable, pouring a specially selected rare magnum of a featured Cabernet Sauvignon not found on the restaurant’s wine list. It’s called the “Blue Duck Uncorked” series, showcasing one magnum bottle each week, with a four-ounce pour available for $30.

Which week should you head in to sip? Any and all!

On August 12th, there will be a 1983 Cabernet Sauvignon from Dunn Vineyards; on August 19th, a 1982 Special Select Cabernet Sauvignon from Caymus Vineyards; on August 26th, a 1981 Cabernet Sauvignon from Silver Oak; and — a bonus! — the last Tuesday after Labor Day, September 2nd, a 1989 Cabernet Sauvignon, La Jota Vineyards, Howell Mountain, Napa will be poured.

The retail wine list price for these magnums ranges from $650 to $1,600.

Take advantage. We guarantee you’ll want more of these pours.
