Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. You’ve been dying to have drinks at the Blue Banana since your parents finally let you watch Pretty Woman.

But the bar in Hollywood, CA where Vivian and Kit buffeted on garnishes was about as real as… blue bananas. DC’s version is verified.

This weekend, the Blue Banana Sports & Rock Bar opens its doors on Georgia Ave.  Next door to the ever-popular Looking Glass Lounge, the new gamewatching and music venue adds to the neighborhood’s growing nightlife.  

Packed with enough screens to satisfy any sports buff, the Blue Banana also promises classic rock tunes and future live performances.
