Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Sam’s Back and Sligging!

DC’s libation legend, Sambonn Lek (aka Sam) — renowned as DC’s original “celebrity” bartender — is back behind an inside-the-beltway bar!

Returning to DC after a year in his native Cambodia*, the mixologist will be serving up his signature “Sam I Am” martinis — and those infamous magic tricks — at the popular 14K Restaurant & Lounge within the historic Hamilton Crowne Plaza Hotel at 14^th and K Streets NW..

“The District will always have a special place in my heart,” said Sam via a press release announcement of his return. “I have truly missed the people of Washington, DC and look forward to seeing new and familiar faces from behind the bar at 14K Restaurant & Lounge.”

*Sam has spent the past nine months in Cambodia, overseeing Sam Relief, Inc., an organization he founded in 1999 that has helped to build 27 schools and 345 wells, delivered 100 tons of rice to a local hospital and funded local university scholarships.
