Union Market’s Popular Drive-Ins Are Back!

Union Market’s Drive-In is back!  But while you don’t have to actually drive in, this year, you do have to buy tickets.

Union Market  played host to the Capital City’s first drive-in movie experience (the closest actual Drive-In is located nearly an hour away, in Baltimore) last Spring/Summer, offering classic DC-centric films on the popular food market’s large 3-story wall.  Before each movie showing, the audience enjoyed live music, contests and special giveaways… not to mention fun drinks and snacks from a variety of Union Market vendors.  And for those who went carless, a public picnic area for bikers and walkers was available without reservation.  (Reservations suggested for motorized vehicles.)

This year… The Union Market Drive-In is back, offering a schedule of fun film showings at just $10 per car (tickets are available online here).  Seating in the picnic area will be first come first serve, free of charge.  Gates open to the lot at 6, previews begin at 7:45, films begin at 8 PM.

Entertaining evenings kick-off Friday, April 18, 2014 with National Lampoon’s Vacation and continue as follows:

  • Friday, April 24, 2014 – Frozen
  • Friday, May 2, 2014 – Diner
  • Friday, May 9, 2014 – People’s Choice: James Bond Edition (From Russia With Love, The Spy Who Loved Me, or Goldfinger)
