Inside the 12th Annual National Book Festival

Anyone who says that people don’t read anymore has not been to the National Book Festival! Thousands of readers – including little ones still learning to read – celebrated the joy of turning the pages (or swiping the screen?!) with their favorite poets and authors at the 12th annual National Book Festival on the National Mall. The two-day festival, hosted by the Library of Congress this past weekend, featured over 125 authors, poets, illustrators, and performers including beloved children’s novelist R.L. Stine, singer-songwriter Jewel, NPR’s Steve Inskeep, and Congressman John Lewis.
