Halloween with the Heurich’s Medium, Mrs. Warneke @ Heurich House
Oct 31 @ 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

On Halloween, from 6-9pm, the Heurich House Museum will hold a clue hunt through the museum, focusing on the Spiritualist beliefs of the Heurich family. Medium Madame Warneke has been directed by the spirits to hold a gathering and needs help revealing the reason why these ghosts have come forward.

The hunt will be led by “Madame Warneke”, played by Mari Rodela, co-owner of DC Brau Brewing Co. and President of the DC Brewers’ Guild. Mrs. Warneke was a famous DC medium in the early 20th century. Her studio was located at I Street NW and the Heurichs attended her séances during their lifetime. The Evening Star newspaper wrote a multi-page expose revealing her as a fraud in 1900. During last year’s Halloween celebration, guests conducted a special ceremony and “sacrificed” a bottle of DC Beer Week Solidarity Beer to appease the spirits and keep temperance at bay on the eve of the 100th anniversary of Prohibition in Washington, DC.

The event will take place at the historic home of DC’s most successful brewmaster, Christian Heurich, from 6-9pm on October 31, 2018. Tickets include snacks and entertainment. Drinks will be available for purchase by adults 21 and older.  To purchase tickets, go to https://bit.ly/2J7NRFw
