Cupid’s Undie Run is a ‘mile-ish’ run in your bedroom-best on Valentine’s weekend. No, we’re not crazy, we’re just crazy serious about raising money for The Children’s Tumor Foundation.

Festivities start at noon on Saturday, February 9th 2013*, then we strip down for the Undie Run at 2pm, have our fun and come back for post-race festivities and awards.

MORE NEW CITIES FOR 2013!  In addition to the current lineup of DC, NYC, Atlanta, Seattle, Denver and Cincinnati, this year we’ll also be undierunning in LA, San Fran, Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Orlando, Minneapolis, Philly, Cleveland*, St. Louis* and Detroit.  Get ready!  It’s gonna sell out fast!

JLW’s Centennial Fete @ National Building Museum

On February 9, the Junior League of Washington invites you to join us for Fête to toast the League’s 100 years of service to the D.C. community. This black-tie gala will be held at the National Building Museum starting at 6:30pm. Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception before sitting down to a plated dinner and program featuring JLW leaders and guest speakers. The celebration will then continue with drinks, desserts, and dancing.

Benefits from the gala will go towards the League’s centennial project, “JLW Resolution Read,” which is our is our effort to purchase and distribute 100,000 new books to Washington, DC’s neediest children throughout the 2012-2013 year.

WHAT: The St. Jude Gourmet Gala and related auction support the pioneering research and exceptional care offered to children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, which is celebrating 50 years of finding cures for pediatric cancer and other deadly diseases, so no patient family ever pays St. Jude for anything. WHY: The St. Jude Gourmet Gala brings together the area’s most critically acclaimed chefs to raise awareness and funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which freely shares its research discoveries with the medical community. Mortified DC’s Annual Doomed Valentine’s Show @ Town Danceboutique

Mortified is a comic excavation of adolescent writing, art, and media.  Hailed as a “cultural phenomenon” by Newsweek, Mortified is a live show that allows us to relive the strange and extraordinary things we created as kids.  Witness adults sharing their own adolescent journals, letters, poems, lyrics, home movies, stories, and more.  Open to anyone from actors to accountants.  Must be 21+.

The show also featuring, Elizabeth McCain, Elissa Laura, Mike Baireuther, and Callie Wright, with host and director Stephanie Garibaldi.
