Nov 14 @ 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

The Henri will host a special evening event on Monday, November 14, to introduce and showcase the restaurant’s new private label “The Henri” in partnership with Woodford Reserve. Guests can experience one of the city’s most distinguished dining experiences and enjoy an evening of inventive cocktails and signature dishes by Chef Frederik De Pue. The proceeds from the evening will go to benefit No Kid Hungry, an organization that is close to De Pue’s heart.

“This unique event enables us to highlight The Henri’s unwavering commitment to feeding hungry children and ensuring they receive the meals they need, especially with the holidays approaching. No child should go hungry and it’s our duty to do our part,” shares De Pue.

The evening will kick-off at 6:00 p.m. in the restaurant’s bar and guests will be treated to a complimentary bourbon cocktail featuring the “The Henri” or Woodford Reserve Rye. Guests will also be treated to signature appetizers and entered into a raffle for a chance to win a trio of The Henri’s private label Woodford Reserve bottles. Tickets for this experience are $150 and can be purchased here.

A lifelong goal for De Pue, he traveled to Kentucky this summer where he visited the distillery and started the process of making the restaurant’s own label. He’s thrilled to bring the finished product to D.C. and is excited for guests to taste the final blend. The Henri is also proud to have an ambassador from Woodford Reserve attend the special evening.

World AIDS Day: A Time to Pause, Honor, and Resolve @ Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History
Dec 4 @ 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Sunday, December 4
World AIDS Day: A Time to Pause, Honor, and Resolve

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History

10th St. & Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, DC

3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Guest Speaker: Whitman-Walker Health CEO, Naseema Shafi

Each December the world pauses to observe World AIDS Day, honor those affected by HIV, and resolve to end the epidemic. Despite all the pharmaceutical tools available to stop new infections and halt the progression of HIV to AIDS, a situation still exists where the benefits are not being equally shared across racial, ethnic, and regional groups of people. Ending the HIV epidemic requires a commitment to reaching those at greatest risk of contracting the virus and removing the stigma, social, and economic barriers that culminate in continued transmission and lack of access to health care. This World AIDS Day we take stock of the U.S. HIV AIDS epidemic, celebrate those working to end the epidemic and assess the work yet to be done.

Whitman-Walker has been part of the fabric of Washington, DC, and nationally for almost 50 years as a first responder and care-provider for those living with HIV; a leader in LGBTQ care and advocacy; a research center working to discover breakthroughs in HIV treatment; and one of DC’s most trusted partners during the COVID-19 pandemic. Whitman-Walker envisions a society where all people are seen for who they are, treated with dignity and respect, and afforded equal opportunity to health and wellbeing.
