Washington, D.C. – On January 30, 2014, The Artinista Art Advisory, a boutique art consultancy, will host a panel on the changing climate of exchanging art online. Hosted by Hillyer Art Space (9 Hillyer Ct NW, Washington, DC 20008) from 6:30-8:30 pm, Art 2.0: The Art of Collecting Online, for only $10 in advance, $15 at the door, will feature Myrtis Bedolla, Founding Director, Galerie Myrtis, Catriona Fraser, Director, The Fraser Gallery, Victoria Reis, Co-Founder, Transformer and Holly Greenfield, Head of Benefit Auctions, Americas, Paddle8 to speak on their experiences with online art sales, purchases and auctions.

Art 2.0: The Art of Collecting Online panel will explore the increased popularity in buying art online through sites like Amazon.com, Paddle 8, and other platforms. The panelists will discuss their experiences in addition to how the increase in these platforms will impact the long-term art market. In addition, the panel will include a demonstration and comparison of current online art exchange options.
“We want to explore if online art exchange will change the traditional gallery platform, and how it can best be used by the DC art community,” says Sharon Burton of the Artinista Art Advisory. The panel will also demonstrate current platforms that are available to artists and galleries for online art sales.
The Artinista Art Advisory is a savvy boutique, woman-owned, art consultancy specializing in providing services to individuals looking to build and maintain contemporary art collections and provide art solutions for commercial clients. There is only one thing that will get avid shoppers up early out of bed, on a chilly February day to head to Alexandria – that would be one heck of a sale. The 9th Annual Old Town Boutique District Warehouse Sale is set for Saturday, February 1st in Alexandria. The once a year, one-day shopping extravaganza featuring high-end boutique merchandise will be held at the George Washington Masonic Memorial from 9AM-4PM. Founded in 2005, the annual clearance sale has attracted a large and loyal audience of shoppers traveling to Alexandria from as far away as Richmond and Pennsylvania.
Deal seekers will find the very best brands of clothing, shoes, jewelry, home furnishings and more up to 70 or 80 percent off retail prices. Experienced sale shoppers line up early in the morning hours to get first grabs at top label merchandise. Shoppers can enjoy ample parking on site, or a complimentary shuttle from the King Street Metro or 50% off garage parking (reg. $10) at Colonial Parking Garage located at 1800 Diagonal Street across from the King Street Metro.
