Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. [Vid] Go Inside the Tasting Room on a MISC Distillery Tour

K Street Magazine went inside MISC Distillery to tour the distillery, barreling and tasting rooms.

Just over an hour from DC, this brand makes high-end rums, whiskeys, vodka and gin — all with grains from local farms. They also partner with other Maryland-based businesses to make products (like coffee and soaps) to extend that Happy Hour feeling all day.

There’s no charge for tours and tastings. Just make a donation that MISC will pass along to its non-profit partners after your visit. The MISC Distillery tasting room is open Fri (4-7pm) Sat (12-6pm) and Sun (2-6pm).
