Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. The 2019 SHAPE Healthy Travel Awards celebrate the best wellness hot spots to relax, refuel, get inspired, and reconnect on your next trip, as determined by the magazine’s editors. SHAPE awarded favorites in 12 categories including the best spa, family getaway, hotel, gym and more.

Palomar was awarded a SHAPE Healthy Travel Award for the healthy food on its room service menu, in-room yoga mats, on demand Pilates programming, complimentary PUBLIC bikes, seasonal outdoor lap swimming pool, 24-hour fitness center, and massage amenities.
