Summer was sizzling as Haute Haus Agency hosted Rock The Runway, an event featuring a star-studded charity fashion show on the rooftop at VIDA at The Yards. Fresh faces from T.H.E. Artist Agency’s roster hit a catwalk extended over the glimmering water of VIDA’s Penthouse Pool. Celebrities like Real Housewife Lynda Erkiletian and actress Jamie Gray Hyder (Graceland and True Blood) were in attendance as well as Michelle Obama’s makeup artist Carl Ray.

Ray helped open the fashion show, which was followed by a performance DC’s own Grammy nominated artist Wayna. Wayna took the stage to sing her standout song Secret Identity, a soulful song “that recognizes inner beauty.” Wayna’s poetic performance took guests on a journey… perhaps nodding your head while embracing deep intellect.

Guests enjoyed a fashion spectacle donated graciously by fashion designer and icon Marchesa. Every model walked with an attitude to match the sounds of the local musicians of Amber Sands, an Alternative Blues Rock band from Frederick, MD, helping to create a unique story for each glamorous piece that strutted down the runway.

Proceeds from the fashion show supported Music Unites, a national charity that works directly with communities to raise academic and lifetime achievement for at-risk public school students through the support and creation of unique music education partnerships and programs. One of the leading charity organization supporting music education around the world, Music Unites, provides youth with a platform to plan achievable goals for the future through workshops designed with career standards and college readiness in mind. Music Unites has attracted big-name music ambassadors such as Swizz Beats (hit hip hop recording artist and husband of Alicia Keys) and Sting, the lead singer of the English rock band The Police.
