There’ a new culinary competition TV series coming that pits some of the world’s most talented young cooks against the very professionals they one day aspire to be — trained, adult chefs.
In each episode of “Man vs Child: Chef Showdown,” a team of five child cooking prodigies – Cloyce (13), Holden (14), Emmalee (12), Dylan (11) and Estie (7) – will challenge an esteemed executive-level chef in the kitchen. Viewers will see whether raw talent and imagination can trump experience as great chefs are put to the ultimate test against the potential food stars of tomorrow.
And our own local favorite Mike Isabella will be among those deciding their fate — joining a rotating panel of judges that includes Hubert Keller, Ludo Lefebvre, Mary Sue Milliken, Josiah Citrin, Antonia Lofaso — alongside show host Chef Adam Gertler.
“These prodigy chefs are an absolute joy to watch. It’s amazing to see what kids can do at such a young age now,” Isabella shared with K Street Magazine. “One of the contestants is just seven years old. I grew up learning to cook with my grandmother, but these kids can do a lot more than just roll meatballs!”
