Introducing A New Middleburg Film Festival

Because the DC area just can’t get enough of its film fests.  And because we would just B.E.T. that she has some connections….

Earlier this week, Sheila C. Johnson announced the introduction of the Middleburg Film Festival which will take place on October 25-27, 2013… in Middleburg.   The festival presents three days of the best in independent film — a curated selection of narratives and documentaries — that will “screen in an intimate theatre environment, followed by thoughtful and lively conversations with world-renowned filmmakers and actors, film subjects, and opinion leaders.”

Kicking off with a “Meet the Artists” dinner and continuing with panel discussions, structured industry ‘conversations,’ and a special “Awards Brunch” to recognize audience’s favorite films from the festival, the weekend’s venues (like Johnson’s own soon-to-be-opened Salamander Resort & Spa, Boxwood Estate Winery, the Hill School, the Middleburg Community Center, the historic Red Fox Inn, and the Middleburg Country Inn) have already confirmed some special guests to include Director Lee Daniels (Precious, The Butler); Vanity Fair special correspondent Maureen Orth; former U.S. Senator/now CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America, Chris Dodd; and Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell.

“As an avid filmgoer, film producer, and member of the Sundance Institute, I have wanted to bring a film festival to Middleburg for a long time,” explained Johnson.

So now you can take in some of the picturesque Piedmont with your motion picture.
