When a Spring storm threatens to pour (in precisely the wrong way) on your Rosé on the Roof rendezvous, what do you do?  Make it Bottles in photo 2 (6)the Basement!

Bitches Who Brunch hosted readers and friends for an intimate rosé wine tasting last week at Georgetown’s Graham Hotel, inviting those in attendance to enjoy Whispering Angel Rosé and hand-crafted cocktails from Fifty photo 1 (5)Pounds Gin in the company of Château D’Esclans’ Paul Chevalier.

As the winemaker guided guests through his rosé offerings from Southern France — including gratis tastings from his harder to find bottles of Garrus — Chevalier shared his personal taste in pours of the pink: Stay away from sweet.  The lighter the color, the better.

Regardless of the change of venue, the crowd agreed, the event was still tops.
