Cap Fringe Fest 14 Now Underway!

Capital Fringe Festival has begun! The 14th annual Cap Fringe Fest brings over 500 individual performances, 87 productions and 13 stages to Southwest DC.  The exciting month (yes, it’s a 20 day festival) of theatre, dance, music and art is large and unfiltered, with headlining performances by renowned monologist Mike Daisey, Mike Reiss (writer of The Simpsons), and Robin Bell (DC artist and projectionist).

Having nurtured thousands of local artists since its inception, Capital Fringe Fest is now supported by some major players. But don’t assume that is no longer on the “fringe” — Fringe Fest visitors can experience everything from an unconventional take on Shakespeare, to an ambitious monologue on the real history of the United States, to the end of the world. Oh!  And new this year… a Video Arcade!

Can’t decide what to choose? Visit St. Augustine’s Church where Capital Fringe offers a full-service box office in the main lobby Wednesdays 5 pm – 8:30 pm and Fridays 4 pm – 10:45 pm (with the exception of Friday, July 19).

Single tickets only set you back a reneged Harriett Tubman ($20),with multi-show passes available at a discount. There’s even (awesome deal alert!) a Fringe Button ($5) which allows patrons to receive discounts at SWDC businesses.
