Brooks Brothers Throws a Preppy Georgetown Opening Party

Wednesday evening’s invite-only shopping soiree at the brand-new Brooks Brothers megastore in Georgetown served as Grand Opening (despite opening to shoppers in August) as well as a fundraiser for the popular Trust for the National Mall charity.

Guests, including Kastle Systems’ Mark Ein, ABC7’s Allison Starling (and her Dad!), Producer Karim Chrobog, Eastbanc’s Phillipe Lanier and Popchips’ Lauren Pomponio explored Georgetown’s three floors of chino, houndstooth and cashmere, which join four other Brooks Brothers in the area.

Women’s wear dominates the first floor, while men are masters of what is above and below.  The basement is the all for the boys… featuring men’s wear, a pool table and mock sports bar.

Georgetown’s Brooks Brothers takes the place not only of the Pottery Barn, which previously sat on 30th and M Streets, NW, but also the extensive former space of the Smith & Hawken, making a store of epic proportions… and a veritable paradise of prep.
