Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Be a Saturday Shopping Samaritan

Do some good while getting that holiday shopping done. The Shops at Wisconsin Place in Chevy Chase are holding a donation drive Saturday to support the critical needs of Thrive DC.

At the corners of Western and Wisconsin Avenues NW between 12 noon and 3 PM, drop of new packages of warm winter socks and men’s and women’s underwear to help prevent and end homelessness – the mission of this charitable organization.

The first 150 people to arrive with donations will receive their choice of either a Washington Nationals baseball cap, a Georgetown cupcake, or hot chocolate or coffee from Tynan’s Coffee and Tea while supplies last!
