There’s just something about winter weather that makes broth, bisques, chowders, and stews sound soup-er, right? The Fainting Goat knows this — and has launched its winter pandemic pop-up “NO SOUP FOR YOU,” a takeout/delivery-only ghost kitchen serving comforting soups, hearty stews, and dippable breads.
All the soul-warming savoriness will be featured on the pop-up menu for as long as its available, including an extensive variety of homemade Soups ($9-$14, 16oz.) from partner and culinary director Nathan Beauchamp and Chef Sam George, rotating through the season but currently including:
- Chicken Pot Pie — sweet potato, parsnip, buttermilk cheddar biscuit
- Roasted Tomato — brown ale, cream, basil
- Braised Short Rib — carrot, wild mushroom, red wine, herbs
- French Onion Soup — mushroom dashi broth, gruyere, caramelized shallot
- Shrimp Gumbo — bell pepper, tomato, celery, shrimp, andouille sausage, basmati rice
- Italian White Bean — duck confit, spinach, bacon, chili, carrot
An assortment of homemade breads and sandwiches (ranging from $3-$8) will be available for pairing and dipping, including an Old Fashioned Grilled Cheese on brioche, French Baguette with herbed butter, Grilled Cheese Croutons, Cheddar Biscuit, a Sourdough Boule (bread bowl) or simple Grilled Rustic Bread.
Affordable and creative $3 Dips (8 oz.) include a Smoked Gouda Cheese Dip, a Honey & Black Pepper Whipped Ricotta, and a White Bean Hummus, all perfect for pairing with the freshly-baked breads.
And, upping the wintry comfort quotient, ‘No Soup For You’ will also offer a selection of Hot Cocktails To-Go ($12), including a Hot Toddy (breakfast tea, honey, maple, star anise, cinnamon and clove, spiked with guests’ choice of brandy or whiskey); Boozy Mocha (hot chocolate, coffee, peppermint schnapps, vodka); Mulled Wine (red wine, honey, clove, star anise, orange); and Irish Coffee (coffee, whiskey, chocolate liqueur). Hot cocktails are also available in a take-home Goat-branded thermos ($40).
