A fresh take on classic Greek food comes to DC’s Dupont Circle this summer when GRK Fresh –what Nation’s Restaurant News calls a “Breakout Brand of 2014” — will open its first local location (1140 19th Street, NW).
Quick serve menu selections offer authentic signature dishes using the best local and international ingredients… like the Yeero (spelled phonetically to differentiate it from the traditional gyro) finished with a choice of three distinct, yogurt-based tzatzikis: classic and zesty GRK, spicy kaftero, or basil infused prassino. There are also entrée salads or side choices like the Aegean slaw with red and green cabbage, carrots, onions and fresh herbs dressed in lemon vinaigrette.
The Dupont GRK Fresh is the first in the brand’s expansion from NYC, with plans to open 8-10 more stores in the region within the next few years.
