A Shave for Solidarity

This Saturday will be 9th time in seven years that RiRa General Manager Simon Hewson has shaved his head for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.  In fact, he’s one of only about 325 in the world to have gone bald for the benefit so many times.
Hewson, now a Knight of the Bald Table, is hosting his own shaving show of solidarity at RiRa in Bethesda on Saturday, September 18th from Noon – 4 PM.

“I was approached to shave my head 7 years ago by my employer at that time. I shaved my head, but it was meeting and talking to several families that had been affected by children’s cancer that struck a chord with me. I quickly realized that St.Baldricks was going to be at the forefront of raising money to fund the research into finding cures for these diseases .  Losing my hair is a small token of my solidarity with the kids who lose their hair during their treatment.”
Lose your locks – or just pledge financial support – as RiRa hopes to help raise over $100 million to fund children’s cancer research and prevention.
