Young Benefactors of the Smithsonian Gala

Yet another Roaring 20’s themed Gala for the younger philanthropic and social set.

The Young Benefactors of the Smithsonian must have borrowed from the playbook of some of the other young professional cultural clubs around town when they chose their theme for this year’s event, held last Saturday at the National Portrait Gallery’s Kogod Courtyard. But we have to give the attendees due respect for being the best dressed flapper girls of the year thus far!

I was there to cover for DC Magazine so be sure to check a future issue for the update, but in the meantime… Raggs & the All Stars was the best 20’s/Swing band at any of the events this year – mostly because they were equally as good at covering songs from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and filled that massive courtyard space with music people really wanted to dance to! Hosts Taryn Fielder and Kenneth Suarez, and special guest Luke Russert were some of the best dressed of the evening. And the silent auction. I. Can’t. Even. Tell. You. If you weren’t there, you missed out on some of the best items (ever!) at some of the best deals. Honest to goodness. Wow.
