Women… and Water for People

Undersecretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs Maria Otero (below right) and former U.S. Ambassador Hattie Babbit highlighted the role of women in water programs while headling Water for People’s annual Gala last week at the National Museum of Women in the Arts
The organization raised over $80,000 to help people in developing countries improve their quality of life by supporting the development of locally sustainable drinking water resources, santitation and hygiene education programs. 
“Everyday, women are on the forefront of making a positive impact on global water issues,” said Lisa Sparrow, President and CEO of Utilities, Inc.  “This event recognized the accomplishments of women in water worldwide.”
