NewsBash @ Pearl Street Warehouse at The Wharf
Apr 19 @ 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

NewsBash, the event founded by a collective of the Washington area’s top female news anchors across every network, announces the 12th annual NewsBash, returning on Tuesday, April 19 from 7:00-9:00pm at Pearl Street Warehouse at The Wharf (33 Pearl Street, Washington, DC 20024). Since 2010, supporters, survivors, politicos and friends have dressed in pink to come together for a cocktail event like none other to spread awareness of the breast cancer charities and raise nearly $300,000 for these organizations.

This year’s event will benefit Breast Care for Washington, a breast imaging center based in DC’s Ward 8 that aims to make breast cancer screenings more accessible by overcoming the barriers that prevent low-income, medically underserved women in the DC region from receiving high-quality care. In addition to offering services such as initiation into screening, assistance with identifying eligibility for public assistance programs and post image navigating services (i.e. biopsies and surgical consult support), Breast Care for Washington serves as the only facility to offer state-of-the-art 3D mammography to the medically underserved population east of the Anacostia River, and is also the only mammography facility in the region that will screen any woman regardless of insurance status.

The NewsBash host committee includes well-known newswomen from the Washington metropolitan area’s top media affiliates. Hosts for the 2022 committee are:

  • From WJLA/ABC, Michelle Marsh, Ashlie Rodriguez, Veronica Johnson, Adrianna Hopkins, Melanie Hastings, Britt Waters, Alison Starling, Eileen Whelan, Olivia Garvey, Kellye Lynn.

  • From WTTG/FOX5, Erin Como, Angie Goff, Holly Morris, Cailtin Roth, Ayesha Khan, Caitlin Roth, Ayesha Khan, and former anchor Laura Evans.

  • From WRC/NBC Washington, Shawn Yancy, Lauryn Ricketts, Eun Yang, Aimee Cho, Susan Hogan, Jummy Olabanji, Molette Green, Melissa Mollet.

  • From WTOP, Hillary Howard.

  • From FOX, Jennifer Griffin.

By popular demand, this is the fourth year that the event will be held at Pearl Street Warehouse. Guests will enjoy an evening featuring specialty cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and sweet treats as well as activities including DJ, dancing, and more, all to support this year’s cause. Pink cocktail attire is recommended. Tickets are available on Eventbrite and prices range from $95 for admission, or $300 for a Mammogram Maven ticket, the cost of which will provide a mammogram for a woman in need.
