Events DC announces tickets on sale now for 12th Annual Embassy Chef Challenge, scheduled for Thursday, May 28, 2020. This year, the event will be held in a new location at the extraordinary Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

The Events DC Embassy Chef Challenge is an annual gathering of embassy chefs representing countries across the globe. The event offers guests an immersive culinary experience that is unique to Washington, DC. The 12th annual event has historically featured more than 40 participating embassies, who have proudly come together to showcase their home countries’ rich culture, unique flavors and traditions, culminating in a friendly food competition. The event’s new location within the Ballroom of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center will allow for even more culinary delights and exciting entertainment, as well as educational programming, new for 2020. The culminating awards program will highlight outstanding beverages, regional cuisines and overall presentation.

La Fête du Rosé

La Fête du Rosé, a picnic-style celebration of all things rosé including the wine, champagne, and lifestyle, returns to the Washington D.C. area for a second year on none other than National Rosé Day, Saturday, June 13, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the National Harbor.
The Festival returns with several new additions and expanded VIP offerings to elevate the guest experience.
Festival attendees will arrive dressed to impress in their chicest pink and/or white attire for a full day of listening to music from world-renowned artists and DJs, and indulging in wine, champagne, and rosé-inspired cocktails, local food trucks, life-sized games, live art installations, share-worthy moments, elaborate photo installations, and a variety of other new and exciting experiences.
“The inaugural La Fête du Rosé D.C. in 2019 exceeded all of our expectations and we’re confident the second annual event in 2020 will not disappoint,” said Founder Cleveland Spears, III. “From the food and drinks to the fashion, guests can expect all of their favorite elements of the festival, but even bigger and better and with some new and exciting surprises throughout.”
La Fête du Rosé will feature multiple rosé wine and champagne options from returning partner and presenter of the champagne VIP Lounge, as well as  VieVité, Maison Marcel and Tito’s Vodka. Attendees will enjoy signature offerings of high-end champagnes, and VieVité’s Côtes de Provence Rosé, which was selected by Condé Nast Traveler as their must-try rosé for Summer. Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive a special edition bottle from Maison Marcel designed by artist James Goldcrown.

Immigrant Food Hosts DC Comedy Night @ Immigrant Food Patio (and Online)

DC Comedy Night: Immigrant Stories with four well-known, local, immigrant comedians. It’ll be on the socially-distant outside patio, as well as streamed on IG live! The ticket price will be 100% redeemable for food and beverages on the evening itself. It’s not a cover charge, but only serves as a way to mitigate no-shows. There will be two tiers – table service is $12.50, and seating is $7.50 — this amount is then subtracted from the guest’s check. 

Here are short bios of these well-known comedians: 

Kasha Patel: Named one of the “Best Undiscovered Comedians” in the U.S. by Thrillist magazine, Kasha Patel has a unique voice that couples life as an Indian-American and her love for science. Founder of “DC Science Comedy,” she produces science-themed comedy shows in the nation’s capital featuring funny jokes, stories, and songs. She recently gave a TEDx talk called “Sneaking Science into Stand-Up” where she shares a series of surprising revelations pulled from her analysis of more than 500 of her stand-up jokes. She has been featured in The Washington Post, BBC World News, the Travel Channel, the Science Channel, and hosted a mini series on NASA TV.
Maher K. Matta: Born in Lebanon and raised in the Deep South. His comedy focuses on observational humor and storytelling.
Rahmein Mostafavi: born in the Middle East, addresses social and political topics with a combination of satirical and observational comedy. Has worked for comedy in a long time and produces events in MD, DC, and VA.
Erick Acuña
Erick Acuñaimprov performer at the Washington Improv Threater and Dojo Comedy. He is Peruvian, and has performed at comedy festivals in 20 cities around the U.S., Latin America, and Europe. His most popular show, “Acuña Acuna,” is a one-person comedy show based on his real life as a Peruvian Latino living in America. It has been voted by NPR, DCist and Broadway World as a “must-see show.”
