Each year a parade is held in Chinatown in Washington, DC to celebrate the Chinese New Year, for 2103, the Year of the Snake! The event features the traditional Chinese Dragon Dance, Kung Fu demonstrations and live musical entertainment.

Location: Chinatown – on H Street, NW, Washington, DC between 6th and 8th Streets.

This event is geared to engage , musicians, venue owners, local businesses, event planners, tech developers, writers and music fans of all ages. How do social networks help build a stronger cultural community in our city. What are the tools we are using? How should we as a community engage each other on a more meaningful basis. How do musicians transform this meaningful engagement into a greater fanbase. Who in DC is having the most success doing this? How does each part of the cultural community play a role in our social network?
Metro Music Source will be co-hosting an evening of networking speakers and panels. The event will begin with an introduction by Hosan Lee, Founder and CEO of TableTribes and will be followed by a series of group discussions. Participants will include:

The race is the only marathon run entirely within the District of Columbia. Traveling along Constitution, participants will pass the White House on the right and the stunning Washington Monument on the left as they head toward George Washington University. The course then loops back towards the National Mall and Lincoln Memorial, passing West Potomac Park and crossing the Arlington Memorial Bridge. New for 2013, marathoners will run in the shadows of not only the US Supreme Court but also the US Capitol building before enjoying more than 3 scenic miles along the Anacostia River’s waterfront, with views of the Washington D.C. skyline.
