Georgetown Wine & Dine Weekend @ Bourbon Steak DC
Nov 5 all-day

Today, Chef Michael Mina, Bourbon Steak D.C Chef Robert Curtis and  sommelier Winn Roberton, and Matt Wilson of Company Fine Wine, announce their plan for the first annual Georgetown Wine & Dine Weekend, to be held November 4-6 at Bourbon Steak DC and the Four Seasons Hotel Washington, D.C.. Proceeds from the weekend long retreat for wine lovers, foodies and fine wine collectors will support the humanitarian relief efforts of World Central Kitchen. Visiting owners and winemakers and notable guest chefs will mingle with guests over the course of a weekend featuring three days of culinary festivities that include tastings, masterclasses, a Virginia wine country escape, a Champagne brunch, and a showcase celebrity chef and winemaker dinner.

Tickets to Georgetown Wine & Dine Weekend events will go on sale Wednesday, July 13. Tickets will be offered a la carte through the event website, and together in the Grand Cru Package, which will grant premier access and suite accommodations at Four Seasons Hotel, Washington, D.C.

The Georgetown Wine & Dine Weekend’s key event will be the November 5 celebrity winemaker and chef’s dinner at Bourbon Steak hosted by Chefs Michael Mina, Adam Sobel, and Robert Curtis and featuring Chefs Kyle Connaughton, Mei Lin, Michael Rafidi, and Bryan and Michael Voltaggio. The chefs will be joined by Matt Wilson and Ashley Meeker of Company Fine Wine, Kate Green and Helen Keplinger of Grace Family Vineyards, Kris Kraner and Braiden Albrecht of Mayacamas, Armand de Maigret of Screaming Eagle, James D’Arcy of Macallan, with other participants to be announced soon. Joining the winemakers will be special guests from Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul’s Dos Hombres mezcal, who will be pouring cocktails featuring their signature spirit.

“We’re so excited to have these wonderful winemakers and chefs in to join our exceptional craftspeople at Bourbon Steak for this event,” said Chef Mina. “It’s such an opportunity to show off the great period of American food and wine we find ourselves in. Our goal is to make this the preeminent annual wine event not just of the DC area, but of the whole East Coast. Looking at the lineup we have planned for this initial weekend, I think we are on the right track.”

In addition to the November 5 showcase dinner, the events include an opening tasting reception on November 4 at Bourbon Steak with a welcome glass of champagne, passed plates, wine and spirit tastings and chef stations. On Saturday host sommelier Roberton will lead a retreat to Virginia wine country with Early Mountain Vineyards for a tour of the vineyard, on-site tastings, and a truffle lunch with other Virginia winemakers and wines. Back at the Four Seasons, those sticking around town can enjoy educational masterclasses with guest wine and spirit makers which will include lunch and tastings of wines from Napa Valley, Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Italy, as well as select Cognac, Bourbon and Scotch. After the evening’s celebrity winemaker and chefs dinner, the Georgetown Wine & Dine Weekend will conclude with a Sunday morning champagne brunch with shellfish and caviar stations.

Henri Private Label Woodford Reserve Dinner @ The Henri
Nov 14 @ 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

The Henri will host a special evening event on Monday, November 14, to introduce and showcase the restaurant’s new private label “The Henri” in partnership with Woodford Reserve. Guests can experience one of the city’s most distinguished dining experiences and enjoy an evening of inventive cocktails and signature dishes by Chef Frederik De Pue. The proceeds from the evening will go to benefit No Kid Hungry, an organization that is close to De Pue’s heart.

“This unique event enables us to highlight The Henri’s unwavering commitment to feeding hungry children and ensuring they receive the meals they need, especially with the holidays approaching. No child should go hungry and it’s our duty to do our part,” shares De Pue.

The evening will kick-off at 6:00 p.m. in the restaurant’s bar and guests will be treated to a complimentary bourbon cocktail featuring the “The Henri” or Woodford Reserve Rye. Guests will also be treated to signature appetizers and entered into a raffle for a chance to win a trio of The Henri’s private label Woodford Reserve bottles. Tickets for this experience are $150 and can be purchased here.

A lifelong goal for De Pue, he traveled to Kentucky this summer where he visited the distillery and started the process of making the restaurant’s own label. He’s thrilled to bring the finished product to D.C. and is excited for guests to taste the final blend. The Henri is also proud to have an ambassador from Woodford Reserve attend the special evening.

The Fainting Goat’s Women’s History Month Cocktail Takeover with Catoctin Creek @ Fainting Goat Tavern
Mar 23 @ 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

In celebration of Women’s History Month, U Street neighborhood tavern Fainting Goat and local VA craft distillery Catoctin Creek are coming together for a night of spirits tastings, specialty cocktails, raffle prizes, and a good cause.

On Thursday, March 23 from 6-9pm, they’re hosting a cocktail takeover featuring drinks created by some of the talented women behind the Goat’s bar, and $1 from each cocktail sold will be donated to the StepUp Foundation.

Cocktails will include bartender Toni Margai’s “Tropical Oasis” with Catoctin Rye, peach, falernum and lemon juice. Guests can also enjoy complimentary tastings of several spirits from Catoctin Creek, the first legal distillery in Loudoun County since before Prohibition, located in nearby Purcellville, Virginia. The award-winning craft distillery produces a variety of rye whiskeys made from local and organic grains, gins and fruit brandies.

In addition to the $1 per cocktail Fainting Goat will be donating for the evening, Catoctin Creek will also be donating $1 per cocktail posted on social media (tagging @catoctincreek with the hashtag #sipforequality). StepUp is a foundation who empowers women and underrepresented people by providing opportunities to enter the spirits community through a comprehensive internship program.

And attendees can go home with swag, as Catoctin Creek gives away raffle prizes throughout the night.

The Fainting Goat’s Women’s History Month Cocktail Takeover with Catoctin Creek is free to attend and open to the public. For more information, please visit www.faintinggoatdc.com, follow them on Instagram at @faintinggoatdc.
