City Paper’s Bacon & Bourbon Whiskey Festival @ Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain

Let’s drink and eat our feelings! The Washington City Paper will hold its annual Bacon & Bourbon whiskey festival at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain on Thursday, December 8th. Guests are invited to taste their way through more than 30 premium whiskies and mouth-watering bacon dishes from some of the region’s best restaurants.

It’s an evening of bacon, bourbon, beer, bites, butchering and bluegrass unlike any other! All guests will enjoy unlimited tastings of whiskey and bacon, have the opportunity to watch a master butcher at work, and be able to take home their glass as a souvenir. VIP ticketholders gain entry an hour early, starting at 6pm, among other perks.

Distilleries from across the globe will be pouring at this year’s festival, including Michter’s, Reservoir Distillery, Four Roses Bourbon, Pine Barrens, District Distilling, Catoctin Creek, and many more!

Butchering Demo:

Ever wonder how to break down a whole hog? Master butcher Marc Pauvert of the Four Seasons Hotel in Baltimore will take guests through a demonstration on the art of butchering a whole hog from Spring House Farm in Loudoun County, VA.

 

Bluegrass Music:

Dry Mill Road will be providing the evening’s entertainment with their “NewGrass” blend of old, new & traditional with a surprising twist that will transport you down a road that’s ‘Older than the Hills.’ The international touring band picks its way through high-energy, heartfelt original material with a good mix of traditional music and “not so” traditional takes on Led Zeppelin, Hank Williams, Bob Dylan, and the Beatles thrown in for a full-blown entertainment experience. Spirits of Maryland: Southern Maryland @ Patuxent River Naval Air Museum

Join the Maryland Distillers Guild (MDG), St. Mary’s County Tourism, and St. Mary’s County Chamber of Commerce for an afternoon of Southern Maryland heritage and innovation. The inaugural “Spirits of Maryland: Southern Maryland” will take place onSaturday, February 11, 2017 from 3-6 pm at the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum (22156 Three Notch Rd. Lexington Park, MD 20653). Sample Maryland Spirits, such as rum, gin, vodka, rye and others, amidst a grand collection of historic Naval aircrafts. Atlas Brew Works of Washington, DC to their monthly History & Hops event. Atlas Brew Works

is a neighborhood production brewery located in Northeast Washington, DC. They produce

hand crafted artisanal beer in 20 barrel batches at their facility in Ivy City. Atlas Brew Works was

born of passion for craft beer and community. Staff from Atlas Brew Works will be on site to

serve three of their locally crafted beers.

Tickets are $30 per person and include tastings, snacks and tours of the historic Dupont Circle

house tours and beer tastings. Guided tours through Heurich’s well-preserved Victorian
