The staff at Carpenter’s Shelter is excited to announce the date for the 12th annual Carpenter’s Cook-Off. Every year, Carpenter’s Shelter brings together 30 of the area’s best restaurants and chefs for a culinary event in order to raise money to support the shelter operations.

On Wednesday, October 22nd, culinary tastemakers chef José Andrés, restaurateur Danny Meyer and chef Charlie Palmer will host an exclusive dinner celebrating the culinary community’s 30-year long commitment to fighting hunger at home and abroad in partnership with Share Our Strength. The October 22 dinner will offer guests a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience cuisine from acclaimed chefs hailing from London, united for a cause: ensuring all children have the healthy food they need, every day.
The multi-course dinner will be preceded by a cocktail reception and will feature a live auction in which guests can bid on a variety of luxury culinary and travel items. All proceeds from the event will support Share Our Strength’s work to fight hunger in the U.S. and internationally.

These renowned London chefs have been inspired by the success of Share Our Strength’s work in the U.S. While in DC, they will have the opportunity to learn more about the strides the organization has made towards ending childhood hunger in America.

Share Our Strength was founded in 1984 in response to the Ethiopian famine. Since that time, more than half a billion dollars have been invested in the United States and around the world to fight hunger.
