Songwriter, singer, traveler, troubadour – the calling I answered, the life I chose, the way I make my way. I chose to go full time on this road 25 years ago. Its been a spiritual quest, an amazing trip, at turns heartbreaking & transcendent.
In that time I’ve made 9 solo records, 4 records with The Mighty Mystiqueros, 1 with my wife Tina, and there’s a new live record with my friend Kevin Welch. I’ve had 100 or more songs recorded by other artists, traveled a fair part of the world, and had some very, very large times.I get to work with some inspiring artists on their records, most often with the coolest cat on the field, Ron Flynt, at his Jumping Dog Studio in Austin.

Rhode Island based Marc Douglas Berardo is a hardworking, fast moving, adventure seeking, keen observer who lives for the story and the song. No Depression Magazine called his latest CD Whalebone: “a highly polished personal collection with songs that are on the delicate trapeze of poignancy.” He has been nationally recognized for his music and performances (Rocky Mountain Folks Fest Song contest, Telluride Troubadour Contest, Sisters Folk Festival, 2013 Rams Head Onstage Rammie for Show of the Year).

The Tea: Tashera
In this new online series, women musicians perform original work on the first Friday of the month. Conducted over a cup of tea, each session includes a short interview exploring the artist’s creative process. Join us and local singer and songwriter Tashera.
Tashera was born and raised in the heart of Baltimore City. She sees the city as a place full of talented and creative minds, which led to her pursuit of music. After discovering her love for harmony and songwriting, Tashera released the singles “Fall Alone” (2018) and “Get Up” (2019). She is currently working on the release of her first EP.

Ford’s Theatre and The National Mall and Memorial Parks explore what Washington, D.C., was like for President Lincoln and how the city has grown and changed over time. Examine places that mattered to Lincoln during his lifetime and places where he matters to us today, including the U.S. Capitol, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and Ford’s Theatre. In this interactive program, participants will look closely at historic and contemporary images of Washington, D.C., including maps, photographs and illustrations. This session is 45 minutes.

Join NMWA for BMA x NMWA, a livestreamed monthly talk show presented by The Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) and the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA). Join the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) for a conversation about Aggie, a new feature-length documentary about art collector and philanthropist Agnes “Aggie” Gund. Gund made headlines in 2017 for selling her prized Roy Lichtenstein work Masterpiece (1962) in order to establish the Art for Justice Fund, an organization that seeks to disrupt mass incarceration through art and advocacy. Catherine Gund, the film’s director and Aggie’s daughter, joins artist Teresita Fernández in conversation about Aggie’s life, her impact on the world and the larger relationship between art, race and justice.
The film will be available for viewing October 11–18, so NMWA audiences can watch the film before the conversation.
