Starting on May 4, each Friday from 5-9 pm, attendees can listen to live music from a variety of bands while enjoying local bites and drink.

On Wednesday Thursday and Friday June 13, 14, and 15, join Picnic Theatre Company at Dumbarton House in Georgetown for Oscar Wilde’s wildly entertaining 1895 comedy “The Importance of Being Earnest: A Trivial Comedy for Serious People”!
This classic social satire features two carefree bachelors, each with a carefully hidden double life that quickly unravels. Silliness ensues with jealous fiancées, whimsical ingénues, scheming society matrons, and the most famous handbag in theatre history.
Bring a blanket for garden seating. Wine and refreshments available on-site. Rain or shine (if rain we’ll be in the Bellevue ballroom). Proceeds benefit Dumbarton Houseprograms and Courage for Kids, which provides backpacks with school supplies to at-risk D.C. kids.

SweatCon Rally flips the script on a bar crawl and instead of drinking 175 participants will sweat at boutique fitness studios around the city. Completing three thirty minute classes at three different studios back-to-back-to-back. From Dupont Circle to Shaw we’ve partnered with 15 of the hottest boutique studios including Corepower Yoga, Solidcore, Cut Seven, Orangetheory, and Cyclebar.
Prior to kicking off the work outs, we will throw a kick-ass check-in party featuring like-minded brands to create a unique experience for all attendees. This year the new 880P will host the check-in party with a GLAMSQUAD braid bar, sweetgreen salad bar, juice bar by JRINK, animated GIF booth courtesy ofMINDBODY, DJ and shopping courtesy of our title sponsor Reebok. Each participant will receive a complimentary event tank top as well as a swag filled with goodies from RX Bar, Progenex, High Brew Coffee, Vita Coco and more.
Over the last three years we have put on three SweatCon Rally events in Boston. The first hosting 30 people, then 200 and the most recent event with 450 participates (selling out in five days with a waitlist of 250 people). Building off the success of Boston we knew it was time to bring this event to more cities. This spring came to Boston (4/28), New York (5/12) and now Washington, D.C. (6/16).

In celebration of the official start of summer, Dupont Circle restaurant Firefly and local brewery DC Brau are bringing together the finest flavors of the season with their first-ever ‘Summer Solstice Beer Dinner.’ This festive occasion will pair a quartet of unlimited beers with four courses showcasing ingredients from local growers and farmers and Firefly’s very own rooftop garden!
On Thursday, June 21, DC Brau will be taking over Firefly’s beer taps with a selection of locally made beers ranging from light to sour to heavy. While enjoying healthy four-once pours, guests will learn the ins and outs of beer production and experience the tasting notes first-hand. As an added bonus, Firely has secured exclusive samples of Turbo Boost Multiball, a new premium double IPA from DC Brau. The full line-up of brews includes:
- First: El Hefe German Wheat
- Second: Public Belgian Ale
- Third: Rosé du Gose
- Fourth: Penn Quarter Porter

Firefly’s Executive Chef Rich Falbo has crafted a summer harvest menu highlighting Mid-Atlantic ingredients to complement each DC Brau beer. Chef Rich will share anecdotes about Firefly’s rooftop garden, commitment to sustainability, and support of local purveyors. Guests will discover the inspiration behind every dish while savoring enhanced flavor profiles provided by the food and beer pairings. The amuse bouche and four courses planned for the special dinner include:
- Amuse: Yellow tomato gazpacho with marcona almonds and parsley gremolata
- First: Duck confit with fresh cherries, bitter greens, chevre, and garden basil
- Second: Fluke a la plancha with garden-fresh tomatoes, watermelon, fennel, and green chiles
- Third: Braised rabbit with lupin beans, garden herbs, and sweet anise
- Fourth: Lemon crème fraiche semifreddo, espresso syrup, and cocoa nibs
The ‘Summer Solstice Beer Dinner’ will be held on Thursday, June 21 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in Firefly’s main dining room. Guests must be 21+ to attend. Tickets are $49 on Eventbrite, and $55 at the door plus tax. Gratuity is included in the ticket price.

Museum visitors can revel in the extra hours of daylight and reflect on American unity with “America Now: Solstice Edition” on Saturday, June 23. This special evening of festivities is a three-museum collaboration between the National Museum of American History, National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum. Now in its fourth year, the tri-institutional partnership of “America Now” will coincide for the first time with a full Smithsonian-wide Solstice celebration.
“America Now: Solstice Edition” is free to the public and open to general audiences; drinks and food will be available for purchase at each location. More information at AmericaNow.si.edu.

Guests will be welcomed by an outdoor Community Block Party composed of food trucks, lawn games and craft-making activities with local artists organized in collaboration with Made in DC. They can connect with representatives from the Downtown BID, Woolly Mammoth Theater Company, Shakespeare Theater Company and Fresh Farm Farmer’s Market. Visitors can then cool off at a boutique-designed Beer Garden inside the Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard, have their portraits done by a Washington-based caricature artist and explore the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery’s exhibitions throughout the first floor. “America Now” will conclude with dancing to the sounds of DJ Ayes Cold and a major live concert by Ruby Velle and the Soulphonics, and Washington’s own Oddisee.

It is made possible by the support of the Robert and Arlene Kogod Family Foundation. The Washington Post is the media sponsor of America Now.
