Jack Rose will kick off “Savor Week” with a rare visit from the Surly Brewing Co. out of Minnesota and their friends from Victory Brewing Co. out of Pennsylvania. Jack Rose’s Beer Director Nahem Simon has handpicked 10 beers from each brewery, such as Surly’s sought-after bourbon barrel-aged Darkness aged in High West Rye barrels and Victory’s seasonal Kirsch Gose, which will be featured on the bar’s state-of-the-art draft system with discounted pricing. The bar’s rooftop wood-fire grill will also churn out special tacos inspired by the states from which the beers were brewed.
Surly brews include: #Merica, 2015 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Darkness aged in High West Rye barrels, Asator Viking IPA, Cacao Bender, Cynic, Furious, Hell, Pentagram, Pils, and Todd The Axe Man.
Victory brews include: Anniversary XX, Blackboard, Cage Radler, Dirtwolf, Frische Weisse, Golden Monkey, Headwaters Pale, Kirsch Gose, Prima Pils, and Summer Love.
The event runs from 5pm-10pm and is open to the public with no admission fee.

Showcasing beers aged in foeders, wine, whiskey and even Caribbean rum barrels, Jack Rose is partnering with five breweries from around the country to celebrate the funky flavors achieved by introducing beer to various wooden vessels. This open-to-the-public event will showcase funky, tart and sour barrel-aged beers from 4 Hands Brewing Co. in St. Louis, Allagash Brewing Company in Maine, New Belgium Brewing Company in Colorado, and Right Proper Brewing Company and 3 Stars from here in DC.
All five breweries will take over the bar’s 20-tap draft system, offering rare brews incorporating unique flavors such as Madagascar vanilla beans, lychee, Vietnamese cinnamon, raspberries and coffee fruit. Here is the full line-up:

Pierre Garcon’s 4th Annual White Party @ Millenium Building

Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garçon will celebrate his fourth annual White Party benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW) next Thursday, June 2. The rooftop soiree, for which guests are asked to wear white clothing from head to toe, will be held at the Millennium Building (1909 K St. NW) where local athletes, NFL executives, community leaders and Washington VIPs will rub elbows for a good cause.

Since becoming part of the Washington community, Garçon has committed himself to supporting at-risk youth in the D.C. area through his partnership with BGCGW. Last year, Garçon helped raise $106,000 for BGCGW, money that is earmarked to help foster a generation of innovative, talented future leaders nationwide.

“Organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington helped pave the path for my success,” Garçon says. “This event allows me to give back and say thank you to those dedicated to bettering the young adults who are the future leaders of our communities.”

Vintage Virginia®, a great summer tradition, will be bigger and better than ever when The Trigger Agency takes over management of the Virginia Wineries Association’s festival.  The festival will return to Bull Run Regional Park Saturday, June 4th Sunday, June 5th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm each day.
