Meet the Artist: Ellen Sinel @ The Fairfax at Embassy Row

Join Studio E Partners and The Fairfax at Embassy Row Hotel as they welcome notable painter Ellen Sinel for a complimentary “Meet the Artist” reception on Thursday, June 2 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.Guests are invited to walk over to the private, members-only Cosmos Club where Sinel will provide a guided tour of her current exhibit, “Nature in Motion.” The Fairfax at Embassy Row Hotel will host a complimentary champagne reception with hors d’oeuvres following the tour.
Sinel is most known for her paintings of landscapes and natural settings. She often works with oils on canvas, paper or wood, creating imagery that is meant to capture the movements of nature in a moment in time. Sinel’s paintings have been inspired by landscapes from beautiful destinations including the Virginia countryside; Aspen, Colorado Mountains; the hills of Tuscany and Napa, California; and lower Cape Cod.

Pierre Garcon’s 4th Annual White Party @ Millenium Building

Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garçon will celebrate his fourth annual White Party benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW) next Thursday, June 2. The rooftop soiree, for which guests are asked to wear white clothing from head to toe, will be held at the Millennium Building (1909 K St. NW) where local athletes, NFL executives, community leaders and Washington VIPs will rub elbows for a good cause.

Since becoming part of the Washington community, Garçon has committed himself to supporting at-risk youth in the D.C. area through his partnership with BGCGW. Last year, Garçon helped raise $106,000 for BGCGW, money that is earmarked to help foster a generation of innovative, talented future leaders nationwide.

“Organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington helped pave the path for my success,” Garçon says. “This event allows me to give back and say thank you to those dedicated to bettering the young adults who are the future leaders of our communities.”

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington President & CEO Pandit Wright looks forward to the White Party every year. “On behalf of the Clubs, this is one of our favorite events of the year! Pierre Garcon has been a generous and engaging role model for our kids and teens, said Wright. “Not only is it a great social occasion; the White Party allows us to showcase the winner of our Youth of the Year competition. This year’s winner is Miss Faith Moore from our Heiser Branch in Dumfries, VA.”

Guests at the White Party will enjoy a live auction, a performance by a surprise performer and plenty of complimentary Tito’s Handmade Vodka and D’ussé cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres, provided by Burger 7Pita Pouch and Paisano’s Pizza.

Past high-profile White Party attendees include Washington Wizards star John Wall, Former D.C. Marks, and Pointless Prom will be a celebration of the 2015-2016 season. Pointless Theatre, founded in 2010, is

dedicated to creating bold, visceral, and affordable spectacles that gleefully smash the traditional boundaries

between puppetry, theatre, dance, music, and the visual arts. Pointless has received many accolades for their

work, including the Best Emerging Theatre Company award from Washington City Paper’s Best of DC

Reader’s Poll in 2013 and 2014, and the Helen Hayes John Aniello Award for Outstanding Emerging Theatre

Pointless Prom will feature rock-n-roll, tasty hors d’oeuvres, and an open bar. Guests will have a chance to take

photographs in the prom photobooth, watch performances by Shayna Blass and Aaron Bliden, and enter a raffle

for a chance to be crowned Prom King and Queen.
