Seven craft beers from six local breweries have been artfully paired with a work of art from an Art League instructor. Local restaurants have chosen a brew/artwork coupling to serve as their muse to create the perfect complementary appetizer. Enjoy the numerous brew, bite, and artwork trifectas on Friday, October 3 from 7:00 to 10:30 pm at The Art League’s first Art on Tap event.
Sample the creative combinations in a take-home Art on Tap beer tasting glass and vote for your favorite and the end of the event!

PopNod announces the Stylemakers and Changemakers fashion show and fundraiser. Join in celebrating those who are at the forefront of style and social good, while raising money to support advocacy group Critical Exposure. Featuring outfits and jewelry from South Moon Under, BaubleBar and other PopNod partners, this rooftop fashion show will bring you the District’s latest styles to dress to impress.
WHO: Benefiting Critical Exposure, a youth training program using photography and advocacy to make real change in their schools and communities. Building a generation of civic leaders with the tools to express themselves; creativity to imagine new solutions to old problems; and instilling the belief that youth have the right and ability to fight for solutions to hold public officials accountable for change. Through campaigns and visual storytelling, CE helps students raise their voices in conversations about education policies and build the public support and political will needed to address the issues they face.

The largest Mid-Atlantic culinary festival will bring to the Nation’s Capital two days of the region’s very best food, drink and entertainment. WHAT: Attendees will be able to sample food from more than 70 of the region’s most popular restaurants, food trucks, caterers and purveyors; taste over 50 beers in the Stella Artois Beer Garden; sample more than 100 wines on the Taste of DC Wine Walk and enjoy nonstop entertainment on three different stages.
Saturday, October 11 – 3 PM: The 4th Annual Ben’s Chili Bowl World Chili Eating Championship. Contestants include some of the world’s most famous professional eaters including Joey “Jaws” Chestnut and Sonya “The Black Widow” vying for the World Championship title. The competition takes place on the Taste of DC Main Stage.
Sunday, October 12 – 4-8 pm: Heritage BBQ Cochon 555 Five local superstar chefs will create their version of a globally-influenced menu featuring whole heritage bred pigs. Each will make 6 dishes. Competing chefs: Scott Drewno (The Source by Wolfgang Puck), Erik Bruner-Yang (Maketto), Kyle Bailey (Birch & Barley), Joe Palma (Bourbon Steak), George Pagonis (Kapnos). Ten other chefs also will prepare BBQ items.
This event is ticketed: General admission: $100, VIP Early Admission $200. WHERE: Pennsylvania Ave. between 9th – 14th Streets NW

Art Buzz Rooftop Soiree to Support the DC Collaborative: On October 15th, Cher Castillo Freeman will host an Art Buzz @ Sunset rooftop soiree at the Embassy Row Hotel (2015 Massachusetts Avenue) from 6 to 9 p.m. Join on the rooftop for drinks for a great cause, munch on select appetizers and vie for raffled goodies with a beautiful view of the DC skyline. This event supports the D.C. Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative’s efforts to provide DC public and chartered schools with access to cultural opportunities throughout the Washington metropolitan area. Each year 30,000 students from DC public schools attend 500 + free performances at our nation’s world-class cultural institutions through their efforts. $1 from every draft beer and glass of wine ordered will be donated to the organization.
