The Devil(ed Egg) Made Me Do It

Cupcakes aren’t the only DC delicacy making the small screen these days. In a “reinvented classics” episode of The Best Thing I Ever Ate which aired last night on The Food Network, Founding Farmers’ very own Executive Chef Al Nappo whipped up a batch of his restaurant’s famed deviled eggs. Far beyond your traditional picnic goodies, they come loaded with lobster, salmon, and other surprising but delicious fillings.

“’[Deviled eggs] are…extremely familiar, and unintimidating; but we put our farm twist on them,” explained Nappo of this signature dish as lucky diners at the bar sampled the gourmet snacks at a special screening of the TV episode.

Widely known for its commitment to sustainable food and business practices, the Foggy Bottom hot spot aims to serve quality American cooking and ingredients while supporting the American family farm. Helping that mission along are the over 1,000 cage-free Devil-ish Eggs served each month.
