Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Melody Tavern Changes its Tune

Michel Daley and Jordan Cappolla‘s new space — a true New Orleans-style jazz and blues lounge — celebrated the granting of its live music license by welcoming such local VIPs as ABC 7 anchor Leon Harris and WPGC’s Sunni In The City (left with Jasmine McGee) to toast and taste in Crystal City’s newest live music eatery Friday night.

A music-themed resto-lounge, Melody Tavern (3650 S. Glebe Road, Suite 170, Arlington, VA) officially opened its doors for live music with a grand opening celebration featuring a performance by local jazz guru Lena Seikaly.

“We think of ourselves as a ‘hidden jewel,’”explained Daley. “We are definitely a destination… There is no other venue quite like us in this area.”
