Spirits of the World

Santa Clause, Sinter Klass, Black Peter, Le Pere Noel, Father Christmas – just some of his many names all over the globe.  Languages and customs are different, but if there’s one thing that brings the world together this holiday season, its a celebration of spirit.

The Institute on Religion and Public Policy, founded by Joseph Grieboski, with wife, at right, hosted an international spirits showcase Friday evening at the Sphinx Club, encouraging guests to sample cocktails from all corners of the globe.

Macedonian wine, Czech beer and Japanese sake were some of the specialties of the night.

Taste DC’s Charlie Adler and the Ethiopian Embassy’s Wondimu Asamnew (below right) were among those in attendance as this Nobel Peace Prize nominated organization dedicated to ensuring religions liberty got liberal with the libations.
