Tasting Menu Time
Mom has been cooking enough over the last year! Leave the meal dealing to international award-winning chef Danny Lledo on Mother’s Day so Mom can sit back and enjoy a curated 4-course tasting menu at home ($85/pp). The Xiquet DL mother’s day special will include a range of Valencian specialties cooked over Chef Lledo’s famous open wood fire kitchen. There will also be a 3-course lunch ($90/ pp) and 3- and 5-course lunch and dinner tasting menus ($150/pp) in-house…. where each Mother will be greeted with a complimentary glass of cava.
The Luxe Option
Blue Duck Tavern, offers a three-course prix fixe Mother’s Day brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 9 with luxe a menu (priced at $110 per person for adults, $55 for children between 6 and 12, and FREE for children under 5. Beverages, tax, and gratuity not included). Highlights include Blue Duck Tavern Benedict with pork belly, Bread Pudding French Toast, Wood Oven-Roasted Duck Breast, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, and Slow-Roasted Beef Tenderloin. And don’t forget the sweet finish with Blue Duck’s famed seasonal desserts.
Sophisticated Small Plates
On Capitol Hill, Ambar, the nation’s capital’s first Balkan restaurant, has a fixed price brunch of unlimited small plates and free-flowing cocktails from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Mother’s Day ($30/pp). Guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat selection of mezze, spreads, soups and salads, traditional dishes, flatbreads, sliders, egg dishes, and sweets. Diners can also indulge in the menu with unlimited servings of five brunch cocktails for an additional nominal fee. It’s a Mother’s Day steal of a deal!
A French Feast
Opaline Bar & Brasserie also has a magnifique á la carte Mother’s Day Brunch in French Style offered on Sunday, May 9th from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. Guests can enjoy their Croque Madame and Macarons in the restaurant or in the privacy and comfort of a guest room or suite… no guestroom or suite rate purchase necessary! $90 Food & Beverage minimum spend required per reservation.
Top Up on Traditional
Stay in Style
Mama knows best and Hotel Monaco DC knows it! Pizza & Plants
Pizzeria Paradiso is partnering with local company, Grounded Plants, to deliver a delightful plant gift and pizza dinner from either Pizzeria Paradiso’s Spring Valley or Hyattsville locations gift this Mother’s Day. The package includes one appetizer, a choice of one pizza from the restaurant’s Neapolitan pie menu, and one plant – either a golden pothos or snake plant. (Starting at $49.50)
In Her Feels with Fun
Treasure Hunt
While we love the idea of giving Mom a day off in the kitchen, some other unique ways to mark the day include a Heart-Centered Treasure Hunt at O Museum at the Mansion! This unique Dupont Circle gem has over 100 rooms and 70 secret doors to explore as you, Mom, and the whole family seek out items related to love. They even throw in a glass of champagne for Mom and yummy chocolate! Be warned: These secret doors are tricky to find — providing great fun even for the exceptional sleuth — but it’s always Mom that finds that one missing sock, so we’re betting on her to win the Hunt!
