Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. You’ll catch her interviewing guests on DC’s NewChannel8′s Let’s Talk Live and showcasing products on BestBuy.com, as well as work appearing on NBC, Fox, Comcast and local print publications.

Tonight we’re partying like it’s Thursday… because it is!

The Georgetown House Tours Patrons party – this event is in appreciation for the homeowners, businesses, and volunteers who serve to make the annual Georgetown House Tour an incredible and memorable experience. C.C. Chritakos will be on The District Dish Friday telling us all about this year’s house tour and what goes into making the event such a spectacular one. You especially won’t want to miss the DC Design House. Special thanks to Nancy Margaret Ray Adler for her generous hostessing for tonight’s event.

Celebrate to Educate – benefiting The Lazarus Foundation, who’s mission is to provide at-risk and disadvantaged high school and college youth financial support, educational services and counseling. Tonight at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel, for only $100, you will enjoy an open bar from 6-9 and the chance to win prizes, including a raffle for a trip for 2 to Jamaica! Plus, DJ Neekola is spinning, so you know you’ll need your dancing shoes on!

And if that isn’t enough… my good friend Tony Hudgins is opening the newest Velocity Five Restaurant and sports bar tonight at 2300 Clarendon Blvd. The patio will be open to enjoy some wonderful weather!
